Every year the DAVOS FESTIVAL Academy invites around 20 young musicians to take an active part in the DAVOS FESTIVAL – young artists in concert to further their professional, individual advanced training. Selected participants spend every day for two weeks in rehearsals, workshops and lectures, perfecting their art under the guidance of tutors, soloists, composers, established chamber music ensembles and the Festival’s advanced Young Artists. Members of the Academy are repeatedly formed into new ensembles, giving them the opportunity to perform as part of both the DAVOS FESTIVAL Camerata and various chamber music groups. Additional education opportunities for Academy participants are also part of the programme.
Core of the Foundation is DAVOS FESTIVAL – young artists in concert, which has taken place during the summer since 1986. Young talented musicians come to Davos for the length of two weeks and rehearse in various chamber music ensembles. They perform mainly works of classical and contemporary music, especially chamber music. Since 2011 the DAVOS FESTIVAL organises the New Year’s Concert and also since 2016 the winterly Singing Week. Concerts, Open Stages, Open Singing and various programme for young audience create a unique Festival and cause a world of discovery for all participants.
