Job description

In the beginning this is a part-time position from 10-16 hours per week with the possibility to grow to a full-time-gig if goals are met.

The location is whereever you are in the US or Canada.

Build relationships with american and canadian institutions (e.g. orchestras, competitions, promoters, ensembles) and convince them to work with muvac and Klassikal.

Organize and run demos for sales and onboarding.

Provide support to american and canadian institutions.

In 2010 we started the development of www.muvac.com (short for music vacancies) which is now the leading platform in Europe to organize orchestral auditions with more than 250 institutions in 27 different countries. In early 2019 we launched the latest version of the platform, which adapts the application process to the needs of other institutions in the classical music sector such as competitions, academies, festivals, courses and masterclasses or music schools and universities. At the same time, we are developing a new project called www.klassikal.com.

It is now time to expand muvac to the north-american market and we are looking for a new colleague who represents the company in this region.

Responsibilities

  • Generate and process new sales leads
  • Actively identify appropriate prospects, set appointments, make sales calls and manage sales cycle to close new business
  • Arrange appointments with clients for demo presentations
  • Answer emails and phone calls from institutions and deal with problems as they arise
  • Follow up with customers to make sure that they are satisfied with the provided service
  • Meet online with company direction to coordinate the sales strategy and report about progress
  • Exert attention to detail, as customers may have the same problems and report problems as necessary
  • Keep contact information about clients and the correspondence always up-to-date
  • Deal with customer complaints and resolve the issue as necessary

Requirements

  • Native English speaker
  • You live in the US or Canada
  • Great time flexibility, a minimum of 2h/day is required
  • Knowledgeable in the north american classical music industry in general and the symphony orchestras market in particular
  • Familiar with the application process in orchestras and music competitions
  • Great selling and presentation skills
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Good computer skills
  • Experienced with customer relations and handling of complaints
  • Attention to detail
  • Personal integrity
  • You are well organized and proactively stay on top of things. You feel comfortable calling and speaking to new people
  • You enjoy helping customers and care about what is best for them
  • You realize that the best wins come through long-term relationships and work hard to build lasting relationships that extend beyond quarterly and annual reviews
  • You like taking ownership of problems and solving them regardless of how small or large they may be
