Founded in 2009 by Boian Videnoff, the orchestra's goal is to serve as a career springboard for outstanding young musicians to launch their professional careers. Over the past years, the young ensemble has been able to shape its unique profile as an international talent factory for musicians and one of the youngest professional orchestras in Europe and bring its repertoire to a broad audience worldwide. The Mannheim Philharmonic has performed in prominent concert series and festivals in Europe and Asia. They are regular guests at essential concert halls such as the Elbphilharmonie in Hamburg, the Philharmonie im Gasteig and the Herkulessaal in Munich, the Auditorio Nacional in Madrid, the Milan Auditorium, the Liederhalle in Stuttgart, the Queen Elizabeth Hall in Antwerp and the Meistersingerhalle in Nuremberg, and work with renowned soloists such as Martha Argerich, Mischaerich and others. Martha Argerich, Mischa Maisky, Sergei Babayan, Sonya Yoncheva, Lars Vogt, Elena Baschkirova, Johannes Moser, Sergei Nakariakov, Igor Levit, Alena Baeva and Julian Steckel. Numerous young musicians have already been able to gain employment in professional orchestras following their work with the Mannheim Philharmonic. They have taken up tutti and solo positions in world-renowned orchestras. The many graduates continue to feel connected to the project and return as tutors to pass on their experience to future generations.
