Both orchestras are permanent orchestral partners of The National Opera and the Royal Concertgebouw in Amsterdam.
The Netherland Philharmonic is one of Europe’s finest orchestras with a solid performance tradition of operas by Wagner and Strauss. The orchestra is also reknown for its cycles of Bruckner and Mahler symphonies in Concertgebouw. With Lorenzo Viotti as new chief conductor the orchestra exlores Italian opera repertoire and will make concert trips to Vienna, Paris, Munchen and Hamburg.
The Netherland Chamber Orchestra is en energetic group of musicians with Gordan Nikolic as its musical leader. At the National opera its reknown for its crisp performances of Mozart and Rossini. On the concert platform it offers adventurous programmes; often including commissions and artistic collaborations of the highest standard.
