Founded in 1978, the Orchestre symphonique de Trois-Rivières (OSTR) is led since 2019 by the young conductor Jean-Claude Picard and is composed of 54 professional musicians. The OSTR stands out for the quality and refinement of its performances, which have been acclaimed by numerous awards, including Opus, Félix and Juno awards, as well as two Gold records. Its programming includes masterpieces from the great repertoire and renowned soloists. Each season, some twenty musical events are presented to the general public, including the seven concerts in the main series, as well as the Matinées en musique, Paysages musicaux and Conférences musicales series, as well as projects aimed at young audiences (BOUM and OSTR_web) and educational activities. On occasion, it also plays along renowned popular singers at the state-of-the-art new venue Amphithéâtre Cogeco.
