The chorus of the Finnish National Opera is the only full-time professional chorus in Finland and over fifty opera singers sing in it. The artistically ambitious and developing chorus plays a major role in many opera works, both stage-wise and musically. The ensemble of the chorus varies depending on the production. In operas that require a larger ensemble, the chorus is supplemented by additional extra chorus singers. The chorus artistic leaders are the Chorus Master Marge Mehilane and Assistant Chorus Master Tatu Erkkilä
