    The first international conducting competition in Korea, KSO International Conducting Competition (hereby, “KSO ICC”) is to be held in 2021 with the aims of discovering, supporting and nurturing young talented conductors around the world.

    The KSO ICC will be held every three years and provide a platform for new talents to stand on various stages and perfect their artistic practice with leading professionals.

    The first prize winner will be given a cash prize along with the opportunities to conduct at leading national and international concert halls including Seoul Arts Center.

    First round

    Candidates are to prepare all prescribed works. The repertoire and sequence of contest will be decided by drawing lots.

    • A. Dvořák Scherzo capriccioso, Op. 66 (12’) / edition: Luck’s music
    • J. Sibelius Pohjola's Daughter, Op. 49 (13’) / edition: Luck’s music
    • P. Dukas L'Apprenti sorcier (12’) / edition: Luck’s music

    Second round

    Candidates are to prepare all prescribed works. The selection of works for the second round will be announced to candidates, shortly after the announcement of candidates for the first round (in the beginning of September 2021).

    • An obligatory contemporary composition by a Korean composer
    • An obligatory concerto

    Final

    Finalists are to prepare all prescribed works. The repertoire and sequence of contest will be decided by drawing lots, shortly after the announcement of the finalists.
