The newly formed Academy of the Copenhagen Phil has open positions from the Season 2022/23! The academy supports young and talented musicians to achieve their highest musical level and in preparing for positions with the world’s best orchestras. In addition to performing with the orchestra for up to 15 projects in a season, under the baton of world-renowned conductors, the two-year programme offers private intensive lessons from mentors from the orchestra, regular chamber music concerts and workshops with internal as well as external mentors, mental coaching and mock-auditions, thereby preparing the academics systematically in the tradition of the orchestral life in Denmark and abroad.
Founded in 1843 as the Tivoli orchestra, and the resident orchestra of famous composer Hans Christian Lumbye for almost 30 years, Copenhagen Philharmonic can be considered one of the most versatile orchestras in Denmark with repertoire spanning from traditional concerts with renowned conductors and soloists over Opera (DJO), Ballet in Tivoli and an innovative out-reach program, thus equipped to prepare academics for the ever-changing requirements of the future orchestral musician.
